2022年11月17日（星期四）上午9点，加拿大阿尔伯塔大学Witold Pedrycz教授应邀在线上作了题为“Data Privacy, Energy Awareness and Credibility: Challenges in Machine Learning”的学术报告。此次报告由数学科学学院孙伟副教授主持，复杂系统智能分析与控制团队的老师和研究生在11#B207参加了本次报告会。
在此次报告中，Witold Pedrycz教授指出在技术先进的学习和架构发展的内在驱动下，机器学习结构具有高度的影响力和深远的研究意义，例如在自动驾驶汽车，控制，医疗成像，关键领域的决策中均有体现。由此主张，ML结构的设计和分析必须以一种整体的方式进行，通过识别和解决一系列来自工业环境的核心和不可避免的要求，并通过可解释性、能源意识 (也清楚地确定在绿色能源议程上) 的大量要求来暗示ML结构的质量的有效量化，从而了解到它们的脆弱性和概念的稳定性与抽象的不同层次密切相关且高度交织在一起，并与ML的技术端呈现出关系。
报告结束后，在场老师与Witold Pedrycz教授进行了深入交流和探讨，并对Witold Pedrycz教授表达了感谢。此次报告对于广大师生紧跟计算机科学前沿，夯实理论基础，更好地开展科研具有极强的现实指导意义让团队师生领略了国际大数据领域知名学术大师的风采。
Witold Pedrycz (IEEE Life Fellow) is Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton Canada. He is also with the Systems Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Warsaw, Poland. Dr. Pedryez is a foreign member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He is a recipient of several awards including Norbert Wiener award from the IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society, IEEE Canada Computer Engineering Medal, a Cajastur Prize for Soft Computing from the European Centre for Soft Computing, a Killam Prize, a Fuzzy Pioneer Award from the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, and 2019 Meritorious Service Award from the IEEE Systems Man and Cybernetics Society. His main research directions involve Computational Intelligence, Granular Computing, and Machine Learning, among others. Professor Pedrycz serves as an Editor-in-Chief of Information Sciences, Editor-in-Chief of WIREs Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery(Wiley), and Co-editor-in-Chief of Int.J. of Granular Computing (Springer) and J. of Data Information and Management (Springer).
